Something a lot of you may not know is that I had a crush on Curtis when I was younger. When I was in 6th or 7th grade, I wrote "I
♥ C.C." on the back of my ruler. I had that ruler for many, many years. In fact, it wasn't until a few months before Curtis came home from his mission that I finally threw it away...now I wish I would have kept it...but at that time I had no idea we would soon begin dating and eventually marry. Curtis was best friends with Justin, who was in my ward when I was younger. I would always hang out at Justin's house and I always LOVED it when Curtis was there. Also, in my Jr. High year book, I crossed out all the girls that hung out with Justin and Curtis. I didn't even know them, I just didn't like them because they were hanging out with "my man." Curtis claims he had a crush on me too, but he wouldn't look too cool hanging out with a 7th grader...him being in 9th grade and all:) When we made it to high school and were actually old enough to date, Curtis claims he never asked me out because I was too cool and I only dated the baseball team. I don't know why he says that because I never dated anyone on the baseball team....and I definitely was NOT cool in high school. He on the other hand dated...lets see...the student body president, girls on the volleyball team,... I don't know who else, but girls way cooler than me.
When Curtis got home from his mission, he FINALLY asked me on a date and the rest is history. I couldn't be happier spending every day with the one I love. After all these years....I still
♥ C.C.

What are you talking about, Jen? You were way cool in high school!! That's so cute that you had a crush on your husband when you were young. My husband and I have a similar story. I have journal entries with his name all over them when I was in 8th grade! It just took him awhile to figure out what a great catch I am! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that story Jen :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 17 for Young Womens we made Valentines for the missionaries in our ward- and I chose to send one to Ike. I was so sad when he never wrote me back...but he did keep the valentine!
