>>THAT JESS...SHE CRACKS ME UP

I love The New Girl.  Jess is such a dork...but she is a totally hot dork and I love her.

Here's a clip of one of my favorite scenes....

It is one of those words you just don't say a lot...or at least not in front of certain people (like your grandma...or your mother-in-law).

Or maybe you do?

Point is, I love the show.  That is all.

Happy Wednesday!

>>CONFESSION

I've been watching Dancing with the Stars on Hulu and I sorta maybe kinda might be crushing on the Karate Kid.

>>SUNSHINE PICK-ME-UP AND BACHELOR GOODNESS

Oh my, this weather has been absolutely delightful.  My mood has done a complete 180.  Talk about the winter blues....they seemed to go on and on and on.  And now finally, some sunshine and warmth! I feel rejuvenated, energized and motivated to actually do more than stay inside bundled up under a blanket.

To celebrate this sunshine bliss, I will be indulging in tonight's finale of The Bachelor!!  I wish I could have a party with fellow Bachelor fans, but I honestly don't know of anyone else in this town who watches the show.  Boo!

For those of you who do watch the show (Heather!), who is your pick to receive the final rose tonight?

My pick: Emily.  She is just so darn sweet.  How could Brad not want to be with her?

did you watch?

So, did any of you tune into American Idol last night?

Are people still watching this show these days? It seems to me like they're not. At least not people here in Thermopolis (except for me).

When I ask anyone here about watching the show, they all respond with "no, I don't watch it."

Then I'm like, "yeah, me neither" and try to play it cool.

Then I'm like, "do you hunt?"

And they're like, "oh yeah, heck yeah,"

and I'm like, "oh yeah, me too, totally."

Ok, so the conversation doesn't go like that exactly, but I seriously haven't met anyone here who watches the show....so, I don't have anyone to talk to about it...except Curtis, who doesn't like it either.

I'm a fan, I love the show, I'll admit it.

I enjoyed last night's finale and I was thrilled with the outcome. Lee has been a favorite of mine throughout the show.

My favorite part of last night was by far Bret Michaels' duet with Casey James. Man, that guy has heart.

I'll also admit, I really like Simon...like really like him. He's up there on my secret crush list along with Alan Shore from Boston Legal. I'm sad he's leaving.

On a side note. . . every year during the American Idol finale, Curtis looks up who wins BEFORE THE SHOW IS EVEN OVER. The east coast gets the results before we do, so about an hour or so before the show ends (our time), Curtis already knows who has won. He then teases me about it throughout the night and threatens to tell me who has won. I refuse to know ahead of time. It takes all of the fun out of it. So throughout the show, I'm yelling to Curtis, "stop giving me hints," and "don't tell me!" Isn't he a tease?!?

>>IS THIS FOR REAL??

I love, love, love DVR. Oh how sad I would have been to miss this great, great news today.

I have been gone all day doing work stuff. I left home at about 7:45 this morning and didn't return home until about an hour ago (8:30 PM). I guess we all have to have busy days like this every now and then. My poor, sweet Curtis left the same time I did this morning and he is still at work (I miss him like crazy!).

Anyway, being the smart gal I am, I set our handy-dandy DVR to record Ellen since I knew I would not be home to watch it at it's regular scheduled time.

I'm now home watching it only to hear Ellen announced the best thing I've heard all day.

Ellen DeGeneres (my all-time favorite lady) is the new judge on American Idol!!

Is this true?? It better be.

Check it out for yourselves: http://www.americanidol.com/news/view/pid/1841

I think it's really true.

I'm stoked!

>>STUPID. STUPID. STUPID.

Jason is stupid! I can't believe I wasted all my Monday nights watching the Bachelor. Blah! I wanted him to pick Melissa and I was so excited when he did...and now...what the shizzz...they already broke up. Stupid!!

I guess Curtis was right all this time. The Bachelor is stupid and no couple is ever going to last.

When Jason told Melissa that things just weren't the same, Curtis (mimicking Jason) said, "things just aren't the same...we don't go on helicopter rides anymore" and "things aren't the same now that we aren't in New Zealand" and "why don't we have romantic candle lit dinners and bubble baths anymore." Of course things are going to be different in the "real" world. Duh, Jason.

Blah, blah, blah. I've learned my lesson.

[Disclaimer: this does not in any way mean that I won't be watching the Bachelorette next season.]

>>IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE, SASSY PANTS

The other night (Wednesday night) after watching American Idol, I had a dream about Mr. Norman Gentle. In my dream I was sitting with him during the results show as we waited apprehensively to see if he would make it into the top 12. He was really nervous and I kept comforting him and telling him not to worry and that I voted for him (which is half way true...Curtis voted for him). Sadly, he didn't make it into the top 12 (still my dream). I continued to comfort him and told him he still has a chance as the wild card.

So far, part of my dream has come true. He didn't make it into the top 12, but most likely, he won't make it in as a wild card either. For some reason, Simon isn't too crazy about him. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens next week.

Now, back to dreams...

I dream every night. Most of my dreams are scary and stressful, so it was good to have a good (stress-free) dream about Norman. I don't know why I have such stressful dreams every night, but Curtis has them too. hmmm, interesting. We haven't always had bad dreams, so hopefully it is just because we are stressed out with school and the bad dreams will go away once we graduate. I sure hope so, we have have been having these stressful dreams for over 2 years now.

Anyway, enough about that. Are any of you going to watch the Bachelor finale on Monday? You better believe I will be watching. My vote is Melissa.

Isn't reality tv awesome?

[I promise, watching TV is not all I do, I swear]

>>LET'S MAKE IT A TRUE DAILY DOUBLE, ALEX

Yesterday was one of those days that I was feeling very...ummm... NOT smart. You know those days where you are just feeling sorry for yourself? Yeah, one of those days.

But then guess what happened today?

I got the answer right to final Jeopardy!! Actually, I guess I should say I got the question right. And the best part about it was that all 3 of the contestants got it wrong. AWESOME! This is only the second time I have ever gotten final jeopardy right, but the first time that I got it right when no one else did. That will make a person feel better. At least smarter, right?

And the question was... drum roll please... "What is Cuba?"

I will admit it was only a guess, but that doesn't make it any less awesome.

And as a side note, Curtis signed my up for Wheel of Fortune. We'll see if I get a phone call to be on the show.

>>IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN

I thought I better post so you don't have to keep looking at those mice on the previous post. Aren't they gross? But I must say, I was sure happy to see a very special guest post by my very special guest.

Getting on with this post...

You all know what time it is, right? Yep, American Idol time! Hip, hip, hooray! And a special thanks to Curtis in advance for letting me watch American Idol this season without complaining about it once. You're the best!

Also, you should totally go see this movie (if you haven't already). Bring the tissues though. It is a great, great movie....it's deep, sad, inspiring, and Clint Eastwood is totally awesome!

>>I HATE TO ADMIT IT, BUT...

I think the Family Guy is funny. It use to make me so mad when Curtis would watch it because I thought it was so incredibly stupid, but then when I actually watched an episode, I couldn't help but laugh. Some of the stuff is crude and some really is just plain stupid, but some parts are oh so funny...I love it. Here are some of my favorite scenes. Hope you enjoy...

>>I WAS WRONG

I really thought Archuleta was going to take the title of American Idol....but nope...it was DAVID COOK! {Yep Ike...you told us so} Good job to both Davids!

I promise this is the last time I will blog about American Idol....until next season anyway.

>>I VOTED

That's right, I voted.....for ARCHULETA!!! I was undecided for a bit on which David I wanted to win, but over the past couple of weeks, sweet, cute David Archuleta has won my vote!! He was amazing tonight and I hope he wins it all!!!

>>DAVID AND DAVID

I know what you're thinking....is Jen really posting about American Idol on her blog? Yes I am. I love the show and I will admit... I'm rooting for the 2 Davids. If I could only choose one of them though, I would have to pick Archuleta...maybe?...I can't decide...I love them both!

So, who are you all rooting for?

>>DENNY CRANE

I love Boston Legal! It is my new favorite show. A special thanks to Clark for buying Season 2 for Curtis for his birthday! I have come to love the arrogant and aloof Denny Crane and the ever wise and witty Alan Shore. Curtis and I joked last night about him changing his name to Denny Crane so when he becomes a big-time lawyer, he can stroll around the office and court room uttering the phrase… “Denny Crane.” That is only funny if you have seen the show…and if you haven’t, I recommend it! It portrays the emotionally challenged lives of the attorneys at the law firm of Crane, Poole & Schmidt. Each episode is full of humor, drama, and excitement. I’m sad because season 4 is starting, but we don’t have ABC. I guess I will have to wait and buy it on DVD. Here's a couple of my favorite quotes from the episodes I watched last night....

Alan: Denny, I could be wrong, but you might want to think about settling this.
Denny: You're absolutely right. You could be wrong.

---and---

Denny: Thank you, Alan, for coming with me.
Alan: I think friends should always encourage friends to get their heads examined.

---and---

Denny: Think we’ll ever see the day when the defense lawyer will be legally permitted to shoot the defendant?
Alan: We seem to be making progress.
Denny: Denny Crane. I’ll be your attorney.[imitating to shoot somebody]

Oh, good times…I will stop quoting now. I just think the show is so funny. Please watch the show and I promise you’ll enjoy it!
