Just look at him. He's been giving us dance lessons throughout the week. He's expensive.....but worth every penny. Love, love this boy!

>>MILLIE IS THE COOLEST DOG I KNOW
A recent conversation between me and Curtis went something like this....
me: "Did you know that Millie has a southern accent?"
him: "No she doesn't. She's not from the south....she's from Brooklyn!"
Wherever she's from, she is freaking awesome....and she's got a poker face that will knock your socks off!

>>THAT JESS...SHE CRACKS ME UP
I love The New Girl. Jess is such a dork...but she is a totally hot dork and I love her.
Here's a clip of one of my favorite scenes....
It is one of those words you just don't say a lot...or at least not in front of certain people (like your grandma...or your mother-in-law).
Or maybe you do?
Point is, I love the show. That is all.
Happy Wednesday!

>>GOTCHA!
There have been a lot of practical jokes going on in our house lately.
Exhibit A. Mike the Mouse
I bought this little mouse last year at Ikea specifically to scare my grandma. I put it on her ironing board and it worked just as planned. She was terrified.
Well, then I forgot all about it until I found it a few weeks ago buried in a box at home. My mischievous side came out and I decided to put in on the stair to scare Curtis. Score! Then I decided to put it in the bathroom to scare him again. Score! Then, that same night mind you, I put in the bed for one last scare. Score again!
It was awesome.
Then he scared me about a dozen times with it the following week. It's amazing how real the mouse appears when tossed along the hardwood floors. It's uncanny, really.
Exhibit B. Creepy crawly plastic spiders
The other day Curtis bought a package of plastic Halloween spiders in hopes of frightening me. We are already both a little on edge about spiders considering we found a black widow just hanging out on our couch a few nights ago. Eek!!
Well, Curtis did succeed in scaring me with the spiders....but nothing like I scared him.
If you are ever looking for a sure way of scaring someone with a big fake spider....just put one in a cereal bowl in the cupboard. Gets 'em every time!!
It got to the point where we were both constantly suspicious of one another....constantly on the lookout. So, last night we decided it was time to call a truce.
The funny thing about it though, was after we called our truce and promised not to scare each other anymore, Curtis got scared by one of the fake spiders that was left in the hamper from when he was trying to scare me. Bah, ha ha ha ha.
Oh, good times.
-------------------------------------------
PS. If you want to participate in the soup recipe exchange, it's not too late. It will be a few days before I have time to compile all the recipes, so please do share if you haven't yet. This kind of thing works best and is more fun with more people participating. So, if you are just the tiniest bit interested, please do email me a soup recipe. You won't regret it come snowy, freezing cold days. Thanks, gracious!

>>A GOOD CASE OF THE GIGGLES
I LOVE this video of Anderson Cooper losing it on live TV. Darn those giggles! I've watched this video probably a dozen times and can't help but laugh every. single. time.
I love how laughing is contagious.
Have you ever gotten the giggles during an inappropriate time? Isn't it the best?!? It's the worst, but oh man...it's the best too!
Laughter really is the best medicine. Whenever I'm upset or mad about something, Curtis will try to make me laugh. At first it makes me more mad because I don't want to laugh, but then once I start laughing, I immediately feel better.
Sometimes we all just need a good laugh....the kind that makes your stomach hurt and your eyes water.
Lets all lighten up and laugh a little more....what do ya say?

>>PROOF
Exhibit A:
Bowl-cut, oversized sweatshirt, rolled up baggy denim shorts...and don't forget the dog tags! The lady next to me is my dearest friend in the world. The clown, well she is a dear friend as well. Twinkle Toes is her name and she was there for my surprise birthday. Yep, that's right, a clown at my 13th birthday.
Exhibit B:
The panda hat...my favorite hat. I had been anxiously awaiting school picture day because I planned well in advance what I was going to wear. I couldn't wait to wear the Panda hat. You think I'm kidding. I'm not. And check out the button front jeans. Totally awesome.
Exhibit C:
Mullet-ish bangs with a side ponytail never looked so cute. And the dress...yes, I was indeed a fan of lace.
I better see some embarrassing pics posted to YOUR blogs now!! Go ahead and get right on that...

>>EVERYBODY CUT, EVERYBODY CUT...
everybody cut f-o-o-t-l-o-o-s-e!
Please tell me you have seen the movie Footloose.
You know, the movie where Kevin Bacon moves to
a small town only to discover that dancing is illegal.
If you have seen this gem of a movie, I high-five you
and recommend that you watch it again for good measure.
If you haven't, do yourself a favor and watch it.
I hear they are coming out with a remake of the movie...
so really, you should see the original first, dontcha think?
It's Kevin Bacon at his finest!
Speaking of Kevin Bacon, he is actually
a pretty funny guy...

>>PHOTOSHOP FUN
So...I'm in a photoshop class here in town. In true Jen fashion, I haven't made any friends in the class. So each week I go, I sit by myself, during breaks I sit there alone or casually walk out and wander the halls, then at 9:00 sharp, I head to my car solo and drive home.
I think the people in my class think I'm weird. And snobbish. I will admit, weird, yes, very much so. But snobbish...no. I can be awfully quiet and shy and I guess it can come off as being a snob.
Oh well. What's a girl to do?
So....for my class we have to do homework assignments and post them to a facebook group. Then we have to comment on each other's photos. Each week I try to do something fun and creative, but I never get a reaction out of anyone in my class. Often times during class, the teacher or other students will talk about the photos posted on facebook that they liked most. None of my pictures have ever come up in conversation.
So, this week I really put myself out there and posted this picture:
And guess what?
I got nothin'.
Am I the only one who thinks this picture is funny? I guess it wouldn't be the first time that I was the only person laughing at my own joke.

>>JUST WONDERING
Who of you thought it was called bolley-ball when you were younger....as opposed to volleyball?
I did. I remember learning the correct name of the sport and thinking it was the dumbest name ever. It made absolutely no sense to me.
I also remember learning that Meryl Street was indeed Meryl Streep. Streep? Really? That was weird too.

my first business venture
I never really did the whole lemonade stand thing....although I always wanted to. I just wasn't cool enough, I guess. Perhaps I was too afraid no one would stop and I would be stuck there alone on the front lawn with a pitcher full of watered-down lemonade.
I did however start a mini Mentos business in 5th grade. You remember Mentos?...the fresh maker??
Here's how it worked. My mom would take me to Kings (remember Kings?) where I could buy 3 packs of Mentos for $1. I would then sell them to my friend, Mike at 2 packs for $1.
It worked out splendidly.
He would give me 5 bucks and say, "next time you go to Kings, buy me 10 packs of Mentos." With 5 bucks I could buy 15 packs...10 for him and 5 for me.
It was awesome!
My friend knew he could go to Kings himself and buy them 3 for a buck, but the difference was...his mom wouldn't take him to Kings and mine would. So, it was a win/win for both of us.
Sure I got paid in Mentos, but in 5th grade, there's nothing better that an overabundance of Mentos.

I'm getting ready
Every year since I've been married to Curtis, we have "the talk" on the eve of Black Friday as to whether or not we are going to get up early and face the madness. Every time, we decide against it and agree that we will sleep in the next morning and hit the sales later in the day. Every Black Friday, Curtis wakes up at 3 in the morning (because he's too excited and can't sleep) and convinces me that we better get going if we are to get the best deals.
Now I just plan on it no matter what we discuss the night before.
What are your Black Friday plans?

silly Curtis
There are so many things I love about this video . . .
I love that my mother-in-law and I thought that Curtis was taking our picture.
I love that we posed for a very very long time with our big cheesy smiles.
I love that my mother-in-law says to Curtis, "your two favorite girls."
I love that I say "take it" to Curtis without moving my mouth.
I love that my mother-in-law says, "silly Curtis" after we realize we were being filmed.
I love that Curtis is silly and always makes me laugh.

Did you guys watch the Emmy's?
Please tell me you at least saw the opening number!
If not, (or if you want to see it again!), here it is . . .
love, love, love it.
Jimmy Fallon is the man!
On a side note, I made a new blog. It's called The Blueberry Blog.
I know, that's all we need is another blog floating around the blogoshpere...
Check it out...or don't. But check it out. :)
