Where has the time gone?  I swear, just yesterday was February and now we are just days a way from June.  Ca-ray-zeee!
Has it been raining at your house?  Oh boy, the rain has been nuts.  I've spent plenty of time scooping out water from our window wells and yesterday I even had the pleasure of cleaning up our wet basement.  Oh the joys.  But boy oh boy is our grass green.  I don't think our grass will ever be this green again.
Speaking of our grass, we live next door to this really nice, sweet, (old) lady.  I don't think she has a lot to do, so she likes to mow her lawn. A lot.  That is fine and all, except that every time she mows her lawn (like every couple of days), that means we have to mow ours too....even though it doesn't need it...but compared to her freshly mowed grass, it does.  And if we don't mow it, she asks about it.  Causally as we walk past, she says, "so, have you mowed your lawn yet?" to which we reply, "oh, uhhh, it looks like we need to again, doesn't it."  (even though we don't because we just did 2 days ago).  She's a wonderful neighbor...truly!  She brings us peanut butter cookies and she also sneaks outside in her bathrobe to shoo away the deer.
The other night we were going through our movies trying to decide what to watch.  We have already watched most of our movies (the good ones anyway), due to our lack of cable TV.  Anyway, we decided on The Lion King.  We figured it had probably been at least 12-15 years since either of us had seen it.  What a great movie!!  I tell ya, they just don't make movies like that anymore.  Then we got into a discussion about our favorite Disney Movies.  Mine hands down are: Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin (in no particular order).  There was one year in elementary school that I watched Cinderella every day after school.  What are your favorite Disney classics?
Well folks, we're hittin' the road in a just a few short hours.  We're off to visit the fam.  Oh how I love going home to visit!!!
Hope you have all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!!
Just for fun....

My favorite Disney movies are also Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast and, especially, Mulan! I recently watched Beauty and the Beast again and enjoyed it so much. Hope you have a very safe and fun trip to Utah!
ReplyDeleteIt has been raining here too..like crazy! I don't remember the last time in May it has been this cold, and wet. Strange weather.
ReplyDeleteI love Beauty and the Beast, Krista used to love the one with just music and things dancing- Fantasia.
I love Lion King, totally classic and the music is fabulous. My other fav is Mulan for sure! Mainly because I love that the girl is hardcore and the music in that one is so fun and catchy. I'm always singing, "Who is that girl I see staring straight back at me" and other parts of the "reflection" song. :) Love it! As for your neighbor, that's cute she's old and mows her lawn! My grandma is 84 and still mows it if I take too long to get over there and do it. So it's my goal to NOT let her do it... speaking of... I'm mowing tomorrow. :)
