>>PHOTOSHOP FUN

So...I'm in a photoshop class here in town.  In true Jen fashion, I haven't made any friends in the class.  So each week I go, I sit by myself, during breaks I sit there alone or casually walk out and wander the halls, then at 9:00 sharp, I head to my car solo and drive home.

I think the people in my class think I'm weird.  And snobbish.  I will admit, weird, yes, very much so.  But snobbish...no.  I can be awfully quiet and shy and I guess it can come off as being a snob.

Oh well.  What's a girl to do?

So....for my class we have to do homework assignments and post them to a facebook group.  Then we have to comment on each other's photos.  Each week I try to do something fun and creative, but I never get a reaction out of anyone in my class.  Often times during class, the teacher or other students will talk about the photos posted on facebook that they liked most.  None of my pictures have ever come up in conversation.

So, this week I really put myself out there and posted this picture:

And guess what?

I got nothin'.

Am I the only one who thinks this picture is funny?  I guess it wouldn't be the first time that I was the only person laughing at my own joke.

  1. Very funny and clever! Your class is lame-o, maybe you should talk about your own photo during class, that would be awkward and funny :) By the way, you have very nice legs.

  2. I never make friends in classes I take either. I did my ESL endorsement a couple of years ago--we met in Ogden every Wednesday from 4-7 for an ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR!--and I never made a single friend. I never had a regular table, nobody ever saved me a seat, and when I saw people from the class in town, we never spoke to each other. Not even a nod. To make it worse, I was a bit of an over-achiever in the class, so the instructors would sometimes compliment my work in front of the class. Everyone else was just completing the bare minimums of the assignments so they could get credit for the class. I think the rest of the class resented me for turning in quality work.

Anyway, I feel your pain. And I love the treadmill incident! Very funny!

  3. I feel your pain about not making friends yet due to being too shy. This has been my curse. And really? People didn't say anything about it? They must be robots or have no souls or something. I think it's funny!

  4. I can be shy too, in fact I am already feeling nervous about moving again and starting all over.

You must have an interesting group of people in your class because I thought this picture was funny!!

  5. Good job, Jen, how'd you do that? I think it's awesome. And class schmass...they need to lighten up and realize how incredibly cool you are. Maybe you should make a treat and take it to class and share it with everyone, to earn their affection like in elementary school. :) I have the same problem- I'm sooooo introverted when I don't know anyone, and am perfectly happy not talking to anyone and being alone. But inside I feel dumb and wish I could be outgoing and talkative. I always said I was going to "turn over a new leaf" when I started something new, but it never happened. We are who we are!

  6. This post almost made me sad Jen, then I saw the picture and got a good chuckle, then felt crappy that crappy people won't ever comment! grrrr
I think your creative, fun and clever and we have never met (that I can remember) and I regret that! It is fun to get to know you in the medium!

  7. Girlfriend, I'm the same way! If it makes you feel better, my friend and I went to a cafe tonight to watch a friend perform. There were tons of people there and we felt so loser-ish and out of place. We paid $4 to get in, stayed for $20 to see our friend, then left. On a Friday night! Nope... just went home. lame. :) And your class is lame, too, by the way! I love that picture-- its' excellent! Also, remember my friend I mentioned, that you reminded me of? I'm sending her the link to your blog. You'roe too much alike to not be connected to each other. You're great!

  8. Hilarious!! I think you're funny. Even though you are shy at first, as soon as people get to know you, they LOVE you! You are great!

  9. LOVE the photo.
Could be worse; you could be an obnoxious loud-mouth like your sis-in-law and therefore have people think you were conceited and refer to you with mean words like "caddy." Yes, I think I'm great, but I think you are great too. What's wrong with being an optimist, I ask you? I'm saving a seat for you right now at the Gene Harris Jazz Festival the first week of April and the Steve Martin bluegrass concert here in Eagle this summer. ;-)
