did you watch?

So, did any of you tune into American Idol last night?

Are people still watching this show these days? It seems to me like they're not. At least not people here in Thermopolis (except for me).

When I ask anyone here about watching the show, they all respond with "no, I don't watch it."

Then I'm like, "yeah, me neither" and try to play it cool.

Then I'm like, "do you hunt?"

And they're like, "oh yeah, heck yeah,"

and I'm like, "oh yeah, me too, totally."

Ok, so the conversation doesn't go like that exactly, but I seriously haven't met anyone here who watches the show....so, I don't have anyone to talk to about it...except Curtis, who doesn't like it either.

I'm a fan, I love the show, I'll admit it.

I enjoyed last night's finale and I was thrilled with the outcome. Lee has been a favorite of mine throughout the show.

My favorite part of last night was by far Bret Michaels' duet with Casey James. Man, that guy has heart.

I'll also admit, I really like Simon...like really like him. He's up there on my secret crush list along with Alan Shore from Boston Legal. I'm sad he's leaving.

On a side note. . . every year during the American Idol finale, Curtis looks up who wins BEFORE THE SHOW IS EVEN OVER. The east coast gets the results before we do, so about an hour or so before the show ends (our time), Curtis already knows who has won. He then teases me about it throughout the night and threatens to tell me who has won. I refuse to know ahead of time. It takes all of the fun out of it. So throughout the show, I'm yelling to Curtis, "stop giving me hints," and "don't tell me!" Isn't he a tease?!?

  1. I think you might be the only person I know that watches the show still, hehe.

  2. You are not alone Jen...I still love American Idol too! And lucky me, Ike still likes it a little.

I was so happy Lee won too :) He was my favorite!

I love that you really like Simon...you are too cute. I'll definitely miss him being on the show.

  3. This is actually the first season I ever watched because I heard Ellen was going to be a judge. I'm a very late arriver to the American Idol band wagon.

  4. A show I definitely wouldn't watch without a DVR. We usually skip through the performances of the contestants we don't like (we'll watch maybe 10-20 seconds of a 2 minute performance.

I'm glad Lee won, but I liked Crystal. I wouldn't have been mad had she won.

I was very disappointed with Ellen this year. I feel she didn't add anything to the show at all. Without Simon next year, I'm not sure if I'll be back for more than the 1st episode to see what it's like without him.

  5. Adam was hoping you were talking about Lost and that you might have an explanation about the finale...and we feel your pain about no one knowing anything about pop culture in the middle of Wyoming.

  7. I did watch this season, and I enjoy the show, but I don't know what they're going to do without Simon. It's going to be dull, I'm afraid. And I was so excited for Ellen to add some spunk and humor this year, but she didn't! She wasn't happy and funny like she is on her show...I think she felt out of her element an not wanting to overstep her bounds or something. I'm glad Lee won- he's a cutie, too!

And was it just me, or did anyone else think it was extremely awkward when Paula was standing on stage talking to each of the judges and Simon?
