I'm in Casper for work and my lover is at home.
I hate being away...I hate it so much.
My heart is still trying to recover from my drive this morning to Casper.
Remember the post where I talked about my fear of driving?
There are no words to describe the fear I felt today while driving on these roads...

I couldn't see the road, it was snowing, I was alone and I was scarred. I hated every second of it (all three hours worth).
About 40 miles from my destination, I noticed a car off the road down in a ditch. I didn't stop because I could hardly see the road, let alone a safe place to pull off.
I decided I better call for help just in case someone was in that car.
I called 911 and they transferred me to the highway patrol. I explained what I saw and they said they would send someone out.
About 5 or 10 minutes later, I saw the highway patrol car drive past me. Then about 10 or so minutes after that, an ambulance drove past followed by another ambulance 10 or so minutes after that.
I don't know if the ambulance was going to that car or not . . . but maybe.
I eventually made it to Casper safe and in one piece...shaken up...but safe.
I hope I never have to do that again.
Ever.
I can't imagine ever, ever driving around in a storm like that! No one here drives in any ice or snow conditions.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you've developed a fear of driving! Maybe you could talk to your doctor about some medication that might help you? I take Xanax for flying on airplanes, but then again, I'm not sure if you could take that and drive. Perhaps there's something out there to help you conquer your fear.
Glad you are safe!
Oh Jen, I so feel for you. With such a fear and in such conditions. I bet you and the hubs are saying so prayers tonight, thankful you made it! I hope it much, much kinder to travel home.
ReplyDeleteJen, I am SO sorry. That sounds awful. I am so glad you made it there safely and that you were able to call for help for that other car. If the weather is still bad when it's time to come home, stay another night. Don't risk it!
ReplyDeletei'm glad you made it safe and sound. it really is scary to drive in those kinds of conditions. hopefully it will be sunny for the drive home.
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! Summer is coming, right???
ReplyDeleteI am glad you made it safely. I was in a bad accident once due to a snow storm. Now I won't drive at all if it is snowing. I hope your drive home was better.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you made it safe! I hate driving in conditions like that too, it is super scary, especially by yourself! Good luck on the drive home.
ReplyDeleteSounds almost like you could have gotten a DUI!! hahaha, just kidding.
