It took a while to come up with a color for our basement family room. I went back and forth a lot and at one point Curtis and I agreed on a color, but then the next day we didn't. Thank you thank you for those who gave us advice on paint colors. I am excited about the Restoration Hardware Silver Sage that several of you mentioned. I decided I want to save that color for the upstairs living room (after we conquer the paneling).
To remind you of our family room before in all of its pink glory:

And here it is now in its new
City Escape color:

And here is our
Social Situation accent wall (colors these days).

It took us a couple of hours to warm up to the new colors, but now we love 'em. It totally changes the feel of the room. It's so much more bright and happy.
There is now no more pink anywhere in our house. Yay!
I Like it!! Way to go, that is no easy task painting over a pink house!
ReplyDeleteSorry-I didn't get recipes to you, I meant to and I didn't!
I think it looks fantastic! It's so fun to add new colors to your house.
ReplyDeleteI like it! Next time you are in UT and feel the urge to paint a room, I've got just the room for you! :)
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Jenny! I've never seen anything you touched turn out badly. You have wonderful taste. I hope I can come see you one of these days.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so with you, yellow can really brighten up a basement!
Looks so good! It is always nice to change things up and I am sure you happy to be rid of the pink!
ReplyDeleteTalk about a fabulous improvement!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think the color you chose is perfect for a basement. We painted our basement a color close to that because I wanted something bright and cheery down there. Perfect! You are super woman with all the projects you've been able to finish in the house! Keep it up. I like the before and afters a lot!!
ReplyDeleteI totally love the 'city escape' color. Makes it look like you live in downtown NYC!
ReplyDeletewait a sec... downtown IS nyc :)
