Here's the thing about my family...we love soda. My mom pretty much lives on Diet Coke, my aunt's pretty much live on Diet Coke, and my grandpa and grandma have to have their daily sodas as well.
So... I was doomed from birth.
Going to "get a drink" (as we call it), is a daily ritual for my family and has been for as long as I can remember. We load up in the car, drive down to the gas station, fill up our mugs with soda, and then we drive around town as we sip our cold, refreshing beverages. It's fantastic.
As much as I try to not drink so much soda, when we come down for the holidays, I can't help but put my soda restraints on the back burner and bask in the daily drives and soda drinking with my family.
Is this weird?
Every family has their weird things they do, right?
This is what my family does. We drink soda. And it's awesome!
On a side note....you wanna here how cool my grandma is??
She had a dream that she was good friends with Brad Pitt. BRAD PITT! They were great friends and spent the day talking about their lives and where he is living these days. Do any of your grandma's dream about Brad Pitt? Do your grandma's know who Brad Pitt is? I thought that was pretty darn sweet! My grandma rocks!

Hey! My family does the same thing. I can always remember as a kid wondering where my mom was, most mornings she was with the neighbor lady going to, "get a drink" I think its kind of a mormon phenomonon. If we werent mormon, Id just have you over for a drink, and then we'd get drunk and have a grand old time! But, now that Im a stay at home mom, I find myself going to "Get a drink" a lot. Its a good excuse to get out of the house. Also, did your grandma watch Oprah yesterday? If she did that may explain the dream...but that is still way cool
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! When I was in high school I had a friend that went with me everyday after school to the Chevron in Farmington..then it was VIP..we went everyday for our drinks! AND your Grandma is awesome!

ReplyDeleteI am way too guilty of "getting a drink" too often...you know it is bad when your 3 year old can spot out the "drink" stores on every corner.
