Last fall, I planted 30 tulips in the flower bed in front of our house. It was my first attempt at planting bulbs and the only thing that got me through winter was the anticipation of blooming tulips this spring.
A couple of weeks ago, I started seeing green poke up through the soil. Since then, everyday more growth has occurred. Every time I walked out the front door and saw the green stems and leaves growing, my spirits would light up.
This morning was different.
Curtis stepped outside and then came back in and said, "uhh, Jen, you better come look at this."
Right away I knew what had happened.
I looked out my door only to find that my tulips had been nibbled down to nothing.
Those damn deer, I tell ya. They are such a nuisance.
They pee all over our lawn, poo everywhere, eat our gardens, and did I tell you about the time a deer chased me to my car?
Enough already!!!
OMG JEN! I'm so sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe too have the same problem...deer have eaten our tulips down to the nubs...pests...We hate them!!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so sorry Jen! That made my heart hurt to see those flowers eaten. We had the same problem living in Centerville with the deer that came down. My Mom put hair, human hair, after she cut it on the flowers and they left them alone, sounds gross but it worked for us.
ReplyDeleteThat really sucks. Can I tell you though, that I giggled when I pictured you being chased by a deer? Haha! That's a bummer about the tulips, though. Those are definitely one of my favorite things about spring!
ReplyDeletethat is soo sad
