There is this recurring dream I have at least once a month, sometimes more, and this has been happening for probably the last 5 or more years. In fact, I just had this dream again last night. I dream that my teeth are falling out...it's horrible! It's a nightmare! Sure, when you're a kid, losing teeth is not a big deal...in fact, it's kind of cute when kids are missing their front teeth. But definitely not when you are an adult. So, just imagine that your front teeth fall out and think of how you would feel. Not very good, right? This is how I feel in my dreams. It all seems so real and it is so awful. I've done some research (a.k.a. google search) on this issue. Here is what I've come up with...
Teeth falling out dreams may be symbolic of:∙ Fear of death or growing old - maybe a little.
∙ Symbol of powerlessness - not that I can think of.
∙ Fear of change - not necessarily. Well, I guess I am a little apprehensive about what will become of us when school is done...however, I have been having this dream a lot longer than we have been in school.
∙ Fear of failure or embarrassment - most of the time, yes.
∙ Poor health and financial instability - maybe a little.
∙ Fear of abandonment - not so much a fear of abandonment, but a fear of something bad happening to Curtis or my family.
∙ Fear of revealing too much information - I probably always reveal too much information, like maybe now??
∙ Anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you - most of the time, yes.
∙ Beginning stages of menopause - I really, really hope not! he he
Well, I don't know what to think about this dream of mine. Are any of you skilled at interpreting dreams? Have any of you ever have this dream or any other crazy recurring dreams? I'd love to hear about them.
I had a dream like that about a year ago it was very creepy it still gives me the hebegebes when I think about it.

Ah, yes "the teeth falling out" dream. I've had that many times. Another one I always have is that I'm trying to put my contacts in my eyes, but they are way too big to fit. I keep trying to squeeze these huge contacts that are, like, the size of an orange into my eyes. Who knows what that means?
ReplyDeletelol. Brandi, that is hilarious. I can't beleive that dream. I've never had that one before. Really, the size of an orange?? I'm sorry I'm laughing...it is probably a very frustrating dream...it is just so funny. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh! That's not a fun dream! My sister-in-law has that same recurring dream.
ReplyDeleteI used to dream my teeth were falling out all the time when I was on my mish in The Philippines. I told one Filipina comp about it and she FREAKED OUT! She said it meant someone in my family was going to die. The same comp told me that if I went to sleep with wet hair I'd go permanently cross-eyed. And she believed it, whole-heartedly.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I think I dreamed it because Filipinos rarely have a full set of teeth, and when they do, they are poorly-made dentures. And also, I was working more hours than I was used to. Maybe it has something to do with a heavy load of responsibilities.
SO..my front teeth really did fall out..well I fell and they got popped out by a sucker.(when I was in 9th grade) Which means I have crowns on my front teeth and I have that dream alot too but probably for different reasons! It is not a pleasant dream to have either way! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your possibilities of why you keep having that dream! I have a recurring dream that my jaw locks and I wake up in a panic and near tears. My jaw has locked twice in real life and it is one of my worst nightmares to have happen again.
ReplyDeleteI had this crazy dream the other night that I was forced to eat 3 wheel-barrow's full of Jack Link's Original Lil' Chub Sausage's. It started out as a good dream, but them became very stressful because all the buttons on my shirt started to pop off as I ate more and more lil chub sausages. Man, crazy dreams.
ReplyDeletelol. whatever babe!
ReplyDeleteHey Jen! I have had that dream many times, but it has been a while, thank goodness!! I seem to dream all of the time that I am trying to run and I can't lift my legs fast enough, like I am in slow motion....very frustrating when you are getting chased by dogs! It feels so real that I have to think hard about it to determine if this really happens in real life....if that makes sense. Anyways, not fun!
ReplyDeleteJana- I have had that dream many times where I am being chased and I can't move my legs fast enough...except that I have never been chased by dogs, only bad people. It is horrible! Sometimes I wonder if I would really be able to run fast enough if I ever really am being chased because the only experiences I have had with this has been in my dreams (luckily) and I can never run fast enough.
ReplyDeleteYour family pictures are SO CUTE by the way. I am obsessed with them. :D
